Morning: Almsgiving with City and Temple Walking Tour

At dawn, when the city’s ancient streets still lay cloaked in morning mist, guests departed their hotel sanctuary for one of Chiang Mai’s revered ancient gates. Amid hypnotic chants and curling incense, they partook in the sacred ritual of almsgiving, a heartfelt offering to resident monks and nuns. After a light local breakfast, the adventure continued, exploring Chiang Mai’s most storied temples.

At Wat Chedi Luang, they marveled at the grandeur of the Lanna-style chedi. Nearby, Wat Phan Tao revealed its intricate teak carvings and vibrant mosaics. A short walk led to the solemn Three Kings Monument before continuing to Wat Chiang Man, the oldest temple in the city. Wat Phra Singh beckoned with its Lion Buddha and mesmerizing mural paintings, and the morning concluded at Wat Suan Dok, the 'Flower Garden Temple', home to one of Thailand’s largest bronze Buddha statues.

Later, an open-air truck whisked them higher up the mountain to a remote White Hmong village. Here, traditional bamboo stilt houses dotted the landscape. Guests connected with the Hmong people, gaining insight into their enduring crafts and way of life, before returning to the city.
